Blazers score early and often to blow out Chiefs 8-2

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers’ are returning home from a three-game U.S. road trip with five out of a possible six points.

Tuesday’s (Nov. 4) game in Spokane was over almost as early as it began as the Blazers ran riot to win 8-2 over the Chiefs at the Spokane Veterans Arena.

Kamloops scored three goals in a 2:47 stretch early in the first period and they led 5-0 after 20 minutes.

The Chiefs scored their first goal early in the second period, although the comeback was short-lived. Rhett Ravndahl, the 20-year-old defenceman who has missed most of the season due to a knee injury, scored his second goal of the night – and the season – 18 seconds later to make it 6-1 Blazers.

The Blazers added two more goals before the Chiefs scored their second goal late in the second period for the 8-2 score. Goaltender Ivans Kufterins made 13 saves in the third period for the Blazers.

Kamloops’ top line of Nathan Behm, Josh Evaschesen and J.P. Hurlbert – the reigning WHL Player of the Month – combined to score three goals and 10 points.

The Blazers improve to 8-7-1-2 on the 2025-26 Western Hockey League season, good for 19 points in 18 games. They’re fourth in the Western Conference and third in the B.C. Division.

The Blazers return to Sandman Centre Saturday (Nov. 8) to host the Everett Silvertips for a 6:00 p.m. start.
