KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers snipped a four-game losing skid Sunday (Nov. 2).

The Blazers got out to a big lead and never looked back in a 6-2 win over the Wenatchee Wild on the road.

Captain Ryan Michael scored his first goal of the season with a wrist shot from above the slot to make it 1-0 Kamloops. Nathan Behm doubled the Blazers lead about five minutes later with a give-and-go on the power play and a move to the backhand.

JP Hurlbert extended the lead to 3-0 with a wrist shot from the left circle at 11:59 of the second period. His 12th goal of the 2025-26 Western Hockey League season was also his league-leading 30th point.

Tommy Lafreniere then added a goal of his own just 31 seconds later, also from a wrist shot from the circle, to make it 4-0 Kamloops.

A brief comeback by the Wild to make it 4-2 was halted by Behm’s second goal of the night, a wrist shot from the right circle, that made it 5-2 Blazers. Kamloops’ Jordan Keller added another goal on a wrist shot from the circle to reach the 6-2 final.

Like Hurlbert, Keller also has 12 goals this seasons, and he sits third in team scoring with 19 points. Behm is second with 24 points.

The Blazers improve to 7-7-1-2 on the 2025-26 WHL season, good for 17 points in 17 games. They’re fifth in the B.C. Division and seventh in the Western Conference.

The Blazers conclude a three-game stretch in the United States with a visit to Spokane Tuesday (Nov. 4) to take on the Chiefs. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.

They’ll then return to Sandman Centre to face the Western Conference-leading Everett Silvertips on Saturday (Nov. 8). Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
