One person taken to hospital after air ambulance lands at Coquihalla crash scene

MERRITT — One person was taken to hospital by air ambulance in a stable condition after a crash on the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) says it was called around 8:54 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 30) morning to a vehicle incident in Brodie.

“Two ambulances with primary care paramedics and an air ambulance with critical care paramedics responded to the scene,” said Brian Twaites, a Public Information Officer with BCEHS.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported by air to hospital in stable condition.”

At 9:51 a.m. Thursday, DriveBC reported that traffic on the Coquihalla was blocked in both directions between exits 238 and 250 as an air ambulance had landed on the highway. About an hour later – at 10:47 a.m. – it said traffic was flowing once again.
