TK’EMLUPS — Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP seized illegal guns and drugs in a bust involving a rental vehicle last week.

In a news release, RCMP say frontline officers were working in the 400-block of Paul Lake Road at about 8:00 p.m. last Thursday (Oct. 23) when they noticed some suspicious behaviour.

They determined a prohibited driver had allegedly arrived at the scene alone in a rental vehicle.

Officers arrested the driver and discovered restricted guns, drugs and money.

“Illegal firearms and illicit drugs in our communities remain a targeted concern. We continue to proactively target and disrupt those persons involved in the drug trade, and in this instance yielded an immediate benefit, making all our communities safer,” said Supt. Jeff Pelley. “This frontline investigation was further supported by Kamloops Crime Reduction Unit, as part of our coordinated approach with Tk’emlúps Detachment, and those communities served due to offenders being multi-jurisdictional.”

The suspect has been released pending charges under the Criminal Code, Firearms Act and Motor Vehicle Act.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2025-35493.
