Former Blazer Emmitt Finnie tallies first NHL goal
DETROIT — UPDATE: Finnie topped of the game with his second career goal, rolling a backhand into the empty net from centre ice to give Detroit a 4-2 win.
EARLIER: Another former Blazer has recorded an NHL first.
Emmitt Finnie, the captain of the Kamloops Blazers during the 2024-25 season, lit the lamp for the Detroit Red Wings in the second period of their game against the Edmonton Oilers Sunday (Oct. 19).
Finnie pounced on a rebound off Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner’s right pad, making no mistake for his first NHL goal.
