Tip from the public helped Mounties recover stolen vehicle in Rayleigh Wednesday

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are saying more about a stolen vehicle investigation that led to the arrests of two people in Rayleigh Wednesday (Oct. 15).

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier says a member of the public alerted Mounties to the stolen vehicle at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, near the 5000-block of Yellowhead Highway.

At the time, police asked the public to stay away from the area.

Responding officers located the vehicle parked on the highway’s frontage road. The driver and passenger, a man and a woman, were arrested at the scene.

“Kamloops frontline officers along with Police Dog Services, and the Crime Reduction Unit were able to recover a stolen vehicle and arrest a man and a woman as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Napier.
