RSV outbreak declared on 5 South at Royal Inland Hospital

KAMLOOPS — A respiratory outbreak has been declared in at least one section of Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

In a notice posted to its health facility disease outbreaks list, Interior Health has declared an RSV outbreak on 5 South at the Kamloops hospital.

The outbreak was declared October 14. In a statement to CFJC, Interior Health says there are nine confirmed cases in the outbreak as of October 14.

IH says control measures are in place, which include enhanced cleaning and disinfection, more personal protective equipment, and only allowing essential visitors.
