Williams Lake RCMP searching for suspect wanted for assault and break and enter

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — UPDATE (Oct. 17): Williams Lake RCMP say Storoschuk has been located.

EARLIER: Williams Lake RCMP are searching for an assault suspect.

RCMP say Travis Storoschuk is wanted on an outstanding unendorsed warrant. He’s been charged with assault by suffocating or strangling, break and enter, forcible confinement, uttering threats and failure to comply with release order and probation order.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 8, Williams Lake RCMP say they responded to a complain of a break, enter and assault. Following further investigation, police identified the suspect as Storoschuk.

Police say Storoschuk may be driving a grey 2012 Ford F-350 pickup truck. The vehicle is registered in his name with B.C. license plate VG9561.

“Travis Storoschuk knows the police are actively seeking him and may be avoiding arrest… Under no circumstances should you approach him or try to apprehend him,” RCMP say.

Anyone who spots Storoschuk or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.

An age and description of Storoschuk was not provided in a news release issued Thursday (Oct. 9).
