KAMLOOPS — The McArthur Island skateboard park will be closed for a little over a week so crews can complete some sidewalk work in the area.

The City of Kamloops says the skatepark will be closed as of Tuesday (Oct. 14), and its expected to remain closed until at least Oct. 23.

According to the city, between Oct. 14 and 20, there will be excavation, prep, and forming work taking place for the new sidewalk. Crews are expected to pour concrete on Tuesday next week (Oct. 21) and work is set to then wrap up Oct. 22 and 23.

“We appreciate your patience while we make these improvements,” a City of Kamloops online statement said. “The skateboard park will reopen once work is complete and the area is safe for use.”
