KAMLOOPS — The South Kamloops Titans have won back-to-back Chow Cup titles over the Westsyde Whundas.

The Titans won the 2025 edition of the city’s football championship with a 42-20 win over the Whundas at Westsyde Secondary School Saturday (Oct. 11) afternoon.

Titans quarterback Cole Rigler went 24 for 34 with 305 yards and four touchdowns. He also had one rushing touchdown. Lloyd Heggen, who was named the Chow Cup player of the game, added two touchdowns and an interception on defence.

Named after longtime local pigskin proponent Darryl Chow, the Chow Cup was revived in 2024 after a more than two decade hiatus. Prior to the relaunch, the trophy had last been awarded in 2002 when it was called the Wendy’s Cup.

The Titans won last year’s game 34-13 after they rallied back from a 13-10 deficit at half time.

South Kamloops improves to 3-0 in the B.C. High School Football Association, while the Whundas drop to 1-2. Westsyde is ineligible for playoffs this season as their roster features players from Valleyview Secondary School as well.

Next up for the Titans is a road game in Vernon on Saturday (Oct. 18), while Westsyde will host Pleasant Valley Secondary School on Friday (Oct. 17) night.
