Williams Lake RCMP seize knives and suspected drugs during arrest
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A patrol in Williams Lake led to a drug seizure and investigation into drug trafficking.
After stopping a vehicle for a motor vehicle act infraction on Sept. 25, Williams Lake RCMP say officers noticed the passenger – who had conditions to not possess weapons from a previous release order – had a pocketknife clipped to her pants.
During a search incidental to her arrest, RCMP say they found 40 one-gram prepackaged tinfoil zips of suspected crack cocaine, a container with four grams of suspected crack cocaine, five grams of suspected fentanyl, two grams of suspected methamphetamine, $700 in cash, three knives and a carton of illicit cigarettes.
In a news release issued Tuesday (Oct. 7), RCMP say the driver was released on scene for the driving infraction while the passenger was later released on an appearance notice for her breach of release order.
