KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (11:45 a.m.): RCMP say they have not been able to track down a person supposedly hit by a train in downtown Kamloops Wednesday morning (Oct. 1).
Mission Flats Road has since reopened.
RCMP say first responders were called to the area of Second Avenue and Lansdowne Street at about 8:20 a.m. Trains were stopped as police investigated but no one was been located.
“The road reopened, but the investigation is still ongoing,” said Cpl. Dana Napier. “Police Dog Services and a drone were used to locate the person struck; however, no one was located during an extensive search along the tracks.”
