Kamloops Fire Rescue puts out overnight landscape fire near Guerin Creek

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue put out a landscape fire near Guerin Creek early Monday (Sept. 29) morning.

Witnesses on social media reported the fire upslope from the Victoria Street West and Mission Flats Road intersection at around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Photos of the scene at around 3:00 a.m. sent to CFJC Today show multiple hot spots within the landscape fire perimeter and Kamloops Fire Rescue trucks stationed at Victoria Street West and Chaparral Place. The witness who sent the photos said there didn’t appear to be any structures lost due to the fire.

The fire appeared to be put out when CFJC Today arrived on scene shortly after 4:00 a.m., and traffic control personnel were no longer present.

CFJC Today has contacted Kamloops Fire Rescue for further details.
