Kamloops Fire Rescue fighting landscape fire

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue is on-scene at a landscape fire Sunday (Sept 28) afternoon.

UPDATE 2:15 p.m.

KFR expect to be tied up on scene for quite some time. Crews reporting the fire is approximately 60 per cent contained.

Kamloops Fire Rescue no longer believes they need assistance from BC Wildfire. They have now reached the fire with water.

Multiple crews, including tenders, and bush trucks are in the area around the Owl Road Dump near Juniper.

KFR crews have asked to dispatch to call BC Wildfire Services to see if a helicopter may be able to assist. Crews on the ground are reporting rank 2 and 3 fire behavior.
