Blazers completed weekend sweep of Seattle

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers improved to 3-0 following a 6-0 drubbing of the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday night (Sept 27) at the Sandman Centre.

The victory capped off the weekend sweep of Seattle after earning 4-3 win the day prior.

While the Blazers were able to pour six goals past the T-Birds, is was Kamloops goalie Logan Edmonstone stealing some headlines, as the young tender collected his first career WHL shutout, making 38 stops for his second win of the year.

Jordan Keller earned second star honours with a two point night, and the ‘Texas Tornado’ JP Hurlbert was again named first star of the game, scoring twice and adding two points. The 17-yearold draft eligible forward with nine points through his first three games in Kamloops.

Next up for Kamloops is again the Thunderbirds, but back in Seattle next Friday. Blazers return home the following day (Oct 4) to face the Portland Winterhawks.
