Firefighters rescue man from Sorrento inferno
SORRENTO, B.C. — Firefighters rescued a man from a burning home in Sorrento over the weekend.
According to the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, fire crews from several communities rushed to the home in the 2200-block of Peterson Road at about 1:35 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 20), finding it engulfed in flames.
Neighbours alerted responding crews that a man was still inside the burning home. A CSRD firefighter burst into the inferno, finding the man overcome with smoke and lying on the floor. The firefighter was then able to pull the man to safety.
The CSRD says the man was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
