WolfPack soccer teams suffer shut out losses Saturday
KAMLOOPS — Saturday (Sept. 13) was a day to forget for both Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack soccer teams.
One day after picking up their first point of the season, the WolfPack men’s soccer team was shut out 4-0 by the University of Calgary Dinos at Hillside Stadium. The WolfPack surrendered three goals in the first 27 minutes.
Elsewhere, in Vancouver, the WolfPack women’s team were shut out 5-0 by the top ranked team in Canada – the 7-0 University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds. The WolfPack held UBC to a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half thanks to four saves by TRU goalkeeper Ursem Floor, but the floodgates opened in the second half.
The TRU women remain second in the Canada West Pacific Division with four wins, three losses and a draw, good for 12 points in seven matches. The men, however, remain at the bottom of the Canada West table with zero wins, seven losses and one draw in eight matches.
