Drought conditions trigger water restrictions for Falkland water system users
FALKLAND, B.C. — Residents on the Falkland water system are being asked to reduce all water use immediately.
In an alert issued Monday (Sept. 8) morning, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District says the Falkland water system has been placed on Stage 3 water restrictions until further notice due to increasing drought conditions in the Salmon River Watershed.
Under Stage 3 restrictions, residents on the Falkland water system are permitted to use a sprinkler or soaker hose for their lawn and plants for a maximum of three hours between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Odd-numbered properties can water on Saturdays only while even-numbered properties can water on Sundays only.
