World Suicide Prevention Day Walk scheduled for McArthur Island Saturday morning

KAMLOOPS — A World Suicide Prevention Day Walk will be held in Kamloops this Saturday (Sept. 6) morning.
It comes a few days ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept. 10) and participants are scheduled to gather near the McArthur Island boat launch at 10:00 a.m. to raise awareness and foster community around the issue of suicide.
The event will run until noon, and organizers say attendees will help contribute by changing the narrative, reducing stigma, and providing hope and healing to those affected by suicide.
Registration is not needed, and there will be a speaker, resources, activities, and snacks available for attendees.
