Kamloops paddlers add to medal haul at Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships

REGINA, SASK. — The Kamloops Canoe and Kayak Club added four medals to its hardware haul at the Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships on Thursday [Aug. 28] in Regina.

Brothers Douglas and Harris Hunter won silver in the under-18 men’s K2 500-metre race as they finished about a half second behind the gold medallists from Nova Scotia.

Corben Hickey and Nate Neuls also won bronze in the U18 men’s C2 1,000-metre race.

Kamloops paddlers have combined to win seven medals at the national championships.

Damian Hickey earned bronze in the men’s U18 K1 1,000m on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, Corben Hickey reached the U18 men’s C1 1,000-metre final and placed ninth.
