Firearms investigation leads to RCMP presence at North Kamloops home Thursday

KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Kamloops are asking people to avoid the 2300-block of Fleetwood Avenue because of an ongoing police operation this morning (Aug. 28).
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP say members of the Southeast District’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) were deployed to a house around 7:00 a.m. to execute a high‑risk search warrant as part of an ongoing firearms investigation.
“While details related to the operation are not available for release at this time, the public is asked to avoid the area until officers have cleared the scene,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier said in a statement.
