Pair of paddle boarders rescued from North Thompson River Tuesday
KAMLOOPS — More than a dozen members of Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) leapt into action Tuesday (Aug. 26) to help a pair of paddle boarders marooned in the North Thompson River.
In a social media post, KSAR says members were called out by RCMP at about 4:00 p.m.
The two women had become stranded on a gravel bar, eventually getting to the bank but unable to make it onto shore due to the steepness of the cliffside.
KSAR says one of its Swiftwater Rescue Team members happened to be in the area, kayaking across to stay with the paddle boarders until more rescuers arrived.
