Search launched for woman missing after taking a walk near 100 Mile House property

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP are looking for tips as they investigate a mysterious missing persons case in 100 Mile House.

In a news release, police say Elaine Christine Begg, 44, went for a walk behind her property on Monday (Aug. 25). She had been in touch with a friend via text message as of 4:00 p.m., but has not been seen since.

Search and Rescue volunteers joined police and searched throughout the night. That search has resumed Tuesday, with RCMP Air Services surveying the area from above.

  • 5’6″ (168 cm)
  • 110 lbs (50 kg)
  • Slender, thin build
  • Fair complexion
  • Brown hair
  • Hazel eyes
  • Last seen wearing shorts, a light pink tank top, a dark-coloured hoodie and flip flops.
