New Heffley Creek wildfire start quickly held Monday

KAMLOOPS — A new wildfire start near Heffley Creek Monday (Aug. 25) is already being held, according to the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

The fire was reported at the Heffley Creek Eco Depot and measured at 1.84 hectares.

As of about 3:30 p.m., the fire had moved from ‘out of control’ to ‘being held’.

It’s believed the fire was caused by human activity.
