February 2, 1975 — August 17, 2025
It is with deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Lisa on Sunday evening in South Health Campus, Calgary. She dealt with her unrelenting health issues with a peaceful dignity. That she is now without pain is a blessing and for that we are grateful. She was so loved.
Lisa will be remembered by her devoted husband Randall Leach of Calgary, her mother Joan Inkster-Smith of Kamloops, BC, her step-mother Irene Stotts-Smith of Powell River, her Aunts, Roberta (David) Holdener of Revelstoke and Alma Jean (John Hanson) Inkster, her Uncle Jim (Auntie Lynn) Inkster all of Vernon, and her Aunt Micki (Jim) Deuling-Kenyon of Whitehorse, YN, and many loving cousins.
Lisa was predeceased by her father Michael Bond Smith and her brother Caelin Smith.
Lisa was born in Vernon BC and grew up primarily in Kamloops where she graduated from Kamloops Secondary and attended UCC. As a child, she spent many happy days in the Okanagan at “the lake” property swimming with her brother and cousins, and playing the games kids play when there is no TV and an abundance of imagination. Those carefree days became treasured memories. Randy and Lisa began their life together in Nelson where again a lake lent the opportunity for swimming, paddling, sailing and simply enjoying nature. They eventually settled in Calgary and spent their time together in a home filled with love, laughter and devotion to each other.
Lisa was a kind, gentle soul who loved deeply. She will be missed dearly and remembered always, for her quiet strength, gentle heart and the love she shared with her family, friends and pet kitties. A gathering of friends and family will take place in Calgary on Saturday, September 13th. With gratitude and in lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, Alberta Cancer Foundation or TinyKittens Society, Fort Langley, BC.
