Courthouse threat in Williams Lake Thursday prompts significant police response, roadblocks

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP are investigating after threats were made toward the courthouse in the city on Thursday (Aug. 22).

Police say multiple roads were blocked off between Borland Street and Third and Seventh Avenue. However, while the file remains under investigation, police say there are no longer any concerns for public safety.

A description of the threat was not provided in a news release issued Thursday.

The courthouse in Prince George was also the target of a threat Thursday. There is no word if the two incidents are related.
