CLEARWATER, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) says renovation work at Clearwater Library is nearing completion.

TNRD Board Chair Barbara Roden says it means the temporary library at the Dutch Lake Community Centre will down operations next weekend.

“August 23 will be our final day at the Dutch Lake Community Centre, which has been the Clearwater Library’s temporary home for the last few months,” Roden said, at the Aug. 14 TNRD board meeting.

“Thank you very much to the District of Clearwater and to the Wells Gray Country Seniors Society for their support and their collaboration during this renovation.”

According to the TNRD, the temporary relocation allowed it to work on some “needed exterior improvements and modernized interior spaces” at the Clearwater Library branch, located at 422 Murtle Crescent.

Roden also said the renovated Clearwater library is expected to open its doors next month, with more information to come in due course.

“We greatly appreciate the understanding of our library patrons during this temporary move,” TNRL Manager of Community Libraries & Engagement Melissa Lowenberg said in December ahead of renovation work getting underway.

“We look forward to the results of this project which will be an improved library space for residents in Clearwater.”
