Numerous road closures in effect Saturday due to Hot Nite In the City, Kamloops Ribfest

KAMLOOPS — A reminder to drivers heading to downtown Kamloops this weekend that there will be a number of road closures in effect because of the annual Hot Nite in the City show and shine.

Victoria Street will be closed to all traffic from First Avenue to Sixth Avenue as will Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth avenues between Seymour Street and Lansdowne Street. These closures will be in effect until 7:00 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 9) evening.

Over 500 different vehicles are expected to be a part of the 31st edition of Hot Nite in the City, which runs in conjunction with Ribfest and the Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival.

The ongoing construction on the Overlanders Bridge is also expected to lead to some bottlenecks with the anticipated increased traffic volume in the downtown core.

If you do drive, there is free parking available in the Seymour and Lansdowne street parkades though spots are limited. There is also a free bike valet outside Sandman Centre as well as one near Heritage House.
