KAMLOOPS — The race for the League1 BC men’s title will go down to the wire.

Kamloops United (KUFC) played spoilsport when they beat the 10-man TSS Rovers 2-1 in a come-from-behind win at Hillside Stadium Friday (July 25) night, a result that could hand Langley United the title later this afternoon.

Lachlan Will (in the 23rd minute) and Charlie Stewart (in the 84th) scored for the home side after Lowell Wright opened the scoring eight minutes into the game. The Rovers’ played shorthanded for a little over an hour after Avi Alemu was sent off in the 28th minute.

With 30 points from 15 games, Langley is two points behind TSS (32 points from 16 games) and they’ll be crowned champions in their inaugural season if they beat the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy Team at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.

A Langley draw or loss will hand TSS their third league title in four seasons. Unlike the past three seasons, there are no playoffs this year, so the regular season champion will play in the 2026 Canadian Championship.

Kamloops will finish the season in fifth place with seven wins and 23 points from 16 games.

Over in the League1 BC women’s action, Kamloops was beaten 1-0 by TSS last night as Sophie Campbell scored the only goal of the game in the 31st minute.

Kamloops will end the season in ninth place, with one win and six points from 16 games. They had three 1-1 draws in their last five games to end the season.

The women’s title has already been won by Altitude FC, and they will play in the 2025 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship in Sherwood Park next month.
