Kamloops teams win gold, silver, and bronze at provincial ‘B’ Cup soccer tournament

KAMLOOPS — A trio of Kamloops-based teams took home medals at the 2025 Provincial ‘B’ Cup tournament which was held in Kamloops this past weekend.

The Kamloops United (KUFC) U16 boys were undefeated in four games en route to winning provincial gold. They beat Nelson 2-1 in Sunday’s gold medal game, after wins over Squamish, Kelowna, and Abbotsford in the round-robin stage.

The Kamloops United U17 Girls took home silver after they fell 7-1 to Prince George in Sunday’s gold medal game. The Kamloops girls beat Okanagan FC and Richmond and drew Vancouver in the round-robin stage.

The Soccer Quest U18 girls also won a bronze with a 1-0 win over Powell River in a bronze medal game Sunday.

“A game that mirrored our season – dominant in possession, strong in movement, and tough to score on,” a post on the Soccer Quest Facebook page said. “One goal was all it too. One last shutout. One last statement.”

Two Kamloops-based teams also won bronze medals at the 2025 Provincial ‘A’ Cup tournament which was also held in Kamloops.

“Congratulations to all the athletes who competed this past weekend and throughout the 2024–25 season,” a statement from BC Soccer said. “[We extend our] sincere appreciation to the coaches, referees, parents, supporters, and Hosts, Kamloops United Football Club, whose contributions are the foundation of youth soccer across British Columbia.”

“Your ongoing commitment continues to inspire and support the development of the next generation of players.”
