NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. — It was another weekend of heartache for Kamloops United Football Club (KUFC) as both the men’s and women’s teams were beaten by Altitude FC in League1 BC action Sunday (June 15).

The KUFC men lost their fifth game in a row as they were beaten 4-2 by Altitude FC at Kinsmen Field. It was also the fifth defeat of the season for Kamloops, who remain on 13 points from 10 games, nine points behind leaders Langley.

Deyan Vujovic scored for Kamloops in the 30th minute to make it a 2-1 game, though Altitude pulled further and led 4-1 before the hour mark. Lachlan Will then added a consolation goal for Kamloops in the 89th minute.

The Kamloops women were also beaten 5-0 for their fourth loss in a row and ninth of the season. They’ve been held off the scoresheet in their past two games and remain in the basement of the League1 BC women’s standings with three points from ten games.

In the reverse fixture at McArthur Island in late April, the Kamloops and Altitude men’s teams played to a scoreless draw, while the Kamloops women were beaten 5-1.

Next up for Kamloops United is a pair of home games against Nanaimo United on Sunday (June 22) at Hillside Stadium. The women’s game is scheduled to kick off at 11:00 a.m. while the men follow suit at 1:30 p.m.
