June 14, 1933 – March 6, 2025
With deepest love, our family sadly shares the passing of Denise Blanche Lefebvre – our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We are so grateful to have her with us all these many years.
Denise passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025 at age 91. She was predeceased in 2023 by her husband, Emile, of almost 70 years. Denise will be missed by her children, Ron (Maureen), Claude (Barb), Joanne (Ed) and Carolyn; her grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany), Behn, Thomas (Chelsea), Cade (Nadine), Hannah (Tom), Caleb (Lyndsey), Sean (Alannah), Josef (Gaby), Michael, Noah (Jess) and Renee; and her eight great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Hadley, Aiden, Joelle, Jack, Oliver, Maya and Grayson. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Aline Desmarais, along with her siblings, Hélène, Dollard, Lenore and Viviane. She is survived by dozens of loving siblings-in-law, nephews and nieces of the Desmarais and Lefebvre families.
Born in 1933 in St Paul, Alberta, Denise was fourth in a family of four girls and one boy. She was very close with her siblings, particularly as their father died when she was only nine years old. In 1952, she met a young Emile at a dance and they were married within the year. They moved with their young son to B.C. for greater opportunities, eventually settling in Kamloops as their forever home.
Denise was a caring and thoughtful wife, mother, friend and neighbour. She showed her love most especially by having people over and feeding them well – we all loved her cooking and her go-to recipes are still sought after.
Mom, thank you for loving and nurturing us and giving us the opportunity to do the same for you. We know you are with Dad and with God, where you belong.
Our sincere gratitude to the residents and staff of Kamloops Seniors Village for their friendship and care during Mom’s final years.
A funeral mass will be held at St. John Vianney Parish, Kamloops on Saturday, March 15 at 11:00am. Everyone is welcome to join the family at the Parish Hall immediately following for lunch and a celebration of Denise’s life.
