Day parole extended for former Kamloops man who killed pregnant girlfriend in 2000

KAMLOOPS — A former Kamloops man serving a jail sentence for killing his pregnant girlfriend 25 years ago has had his day parole extended for another six months.

Trent Larsen pleaded guilty to manslaughter and committing an indignity to a dead body in 2021, related to the death of his girlfriend, Angel Fehr, more than two decades earlier.

Fehr was last seen in April of 2000. She was five months pregnant at the time.

Court heard Fehr had threatened to report Larsen’s involvement in a marijuana grow operation to police, leading to a physical altercation that ended when Larsen strangled the woman to death with a lamp’s electrical cord.

He then placed Fehr’s body into a barrel and buried it on a friend’s rural property near 100 Mile House.

Larsen was arrested in 2019 as the result of an undercover RCMP investigation.

Serving a sentence of more than eight years in prison, Larsen was granted day parole last November.

In a review of his day parole dated February 20, 2025, the Parole Board of Canada notes Larsen completed a Community Maintenance Program in January, but said it is “troubled” by his poor attitude and commitment to the program.

However, the board notes Larsen is engaged in his correctional plan and has made positive progress in the community since his release.

Larsen’s day parole will be reviewed again after six months.
