October 12, 1938 – February 12, 2025 

In the evening hours of February 12, 2025, Allen passed away to his eternal reward in heaven and in his heart was the loving god the strength in his life. 

Allen Bodnaruk was born on October 12, 1938, to Walter and Mary Bodnaruk of Vilna, Alberta. Allen chose a career as a meteorologist. 

In 1961 he married Adeline Chmilar. A year later they were blessed with a daughter Edwardine. Allen was a devoted and loving husband to Adeline, together they celebrated the fullness of their life sharing the joy of good times and being there for each other when they faced life challenges at the same time Allen was a caring father and exceptional teacher, dedicating his time to his daughter during her school years. 

During his busy life he always had time for his parents, brother, sister, nephews and nieces. The Bodnaruk home was always open to everyone, and they hosted many special guests including bishops, priests and sisters. 

While Allens work required frequent transfers I.e., Calgary, Lethbridge, Edmonton, Ft. Nelson, Ft. St. John and Kamloops, Adeline and Allen were quick at making new friends and getting involved in their new community. 

Upon finding a place to live, they would then look for a place to worship which was an integral part of their life together.
