KAMLOOPS — RCMP say a 23-year-old Kamloops man has been sentenced to two years in jail after he admitted to possessing child-sex abuse material.

In a news release Friday (Feb 28), police say Stephen Timothy Bittner, who was arrested last week, also pled guilty to two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says police officers executed a search warrant at a house on the 1400-block of Halston Avenue last Wednesday, Feb. 19, as part of an investigation.

“During that investigation, police officers located electronic devices that were capable of accessing the internet, in contradiction to the terms of the probation order he was bound by as a result of his previous conviction related to the possession of child sexual abuse material,” Evelyn said.
