Boil water advisories lifted in Savona, Cache Creek
SAVONA AND CACHE CREEK, B.C. — A long-term boil water notice for Savona and a much shorter-term boil water advisory for Cache Creek were both lifted Friday (Feb. 21).
In a Voyent Alert! message sent to residents, the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) says residents using the Savona Community Water System are no longer advised to boil their water before consuming it.
The boil water notice for Savona was initially put in place nearly five months ago, on October 4, 2024. That was the day the TNRD noted turbidity levels exceeding 5 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity units).
Savona remains subject to a water quality advisory, as the turbidity level remains higher than 1 NTU but has dropped below 5 NTU.
