VICTORIA — A plan to expand Wells Gray and Cinnemousun Narrows Provincial Parks is among the first pieces of legislation introduced by the B.C. NDP government as the legislative session kicks off this week.

The Ministry of Environment and Parks says the legislation would add 33 hectares to Wells Gray Park, protecting wetland and forest that is encompassed by parkland on three sides.

Cinnemousun Narrows Park will add three hectares of land and another three hectares of adjacent lake shore on Shuswap Lake.

Another 104 hectares of land will be added to Naikoon Park in Haida Gwaii.
