KAMLOOPS — A section of Parkcrest Avenue on the city’s north shore has been temporarily shut down, according to a Kamloops RCMP press release issued on Wednesday (Feb. 19) morning.

Members of the detachment’s Crime Reduction Unit and frontline officers responded to a home in the 1800 block of Parkcrest Avenue just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the release.

The response is related to an ongoing property crime investigation.

A section of the road near Laroque Street has been closed off to traffic as a result and residents are asked to avoid the area until it reopens to traffic.

“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment appreciates the public’s support and patience as it works to further this investigation into the ongoing concerns surrounding stolen property and crime in the community,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

The news release adds that police will be providing an update on this investigation.

In the meantime, anyone with information related to the incident or other property crime is urged to call the Kamloops detachment at 250-828-3000.
