RCMP investigating vehicle fire near Sugar Loaf overpass

KAMLOOPS — Tk’emlups Rural RCMP are investigating a vehicle fire near the Sugar Loaf Overpass over the weekend.

RCMP say officers were called to a pullout on Highway 5 near the overpass at around 6:00 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 2) where a white 2018 Porsche Macan was found on fire.

In a news release issued Tuesday (Feb. 4), police say no one was in or near the Porsche. The vehicle was allegedly stolen after it was parked overnight near Parkcrest Avenue and Kamwood Place in Brocklehurst.

Anyone with information that may be related to the vehicle fire, including security or dashcam video, is asked to contact Tk’emlups Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800.
