One dead following UTV accident near Adams Lake

CHASE, B.C. — One man was killed over the weekend when a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) rolled down a steep embankment in the Adams Lake area, north of Chase.

In a post to social media Wednesday (Nov. 4) afternoon, Shuswap Search and Rescue (SSAR) said a rope team was dispatched to the area on Saturday (Oct. 31) to help Chase RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) recover a pair of injured UTV riders.

SSAR said the vehicle rolled down a steep embankment along a forest service road.

BCEHS used a helicopter to air lift one rider for medical treatment, however, the other rider was killed in the accident.
