Democrat Janelle Stelson wins election to U.S. House in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District

Democrat Janelle Stelson won election Tuesday to the U.S. House of Representatives representing Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, defeating Republican incumbent Scott Perry. A onetime local television anchor, Stelson portrayed Perry as an extremist on abortion rights and criticized his support for President Donald Trump’s tax cut legislation. She previously lost to Perry two years ago. Perry, a former head of the House Freedom Caucus, was seeking an eighth term. The Associated Press declared Stelson the winner at 10:41 p.m. EST.
