Williams Lake RCMP investigating four dumpster fires lit within one hour

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP have launched an investigation into four dumpster fires that were lit in different parts of the city within 45 minutes of each other on Monday afternoon (Nov. 2).

The City of Williams Lake said the fire department responded to each incident quickly and were able to snuff out the flames before they spread.

No injuries or damage to surrounding properties were reported, but the RCMP detachment has launched an investigation into the fires.

“While there is currently no indication of a broader threat to public safety, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, smoke or fire concerns,” said city officials.
