Weekend rally calls for preservation of historic Stuart Wood School in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Different connections to the same building but one message about its future. Supporters rallied at Stuart Wood School Saturday (Oct. 31) morning, pushing back against its possible use as a new police station site.
“I’m angry already, I’m angry that this is even on the table,” says one attendee.
Former Kamloops mayor Mel Rothenburger, was present at the rally and he emceeed the event.
“We need to convince the incoming city council that this building must be saved,” Rothenburger said. “Therefore, remove that part of the resolution that was passed referring to Stuart Wood.”
