Police warn of potent drug supply in Salmon Arm after recent overdoses
SALMON ARM, B.C. — RCMP are warning the public of a potent drug supply in Salmon Arm.
The alert Tuesday (Oct. 27) comes after two suspected overdoses in the past 24 hours in the city, according to Salmon Arm RCMP.
“Salmon Arm RCMP always advise against the use of any illicit substance or drug, but also believe in the importance of sharing this information to prevent more overdoses. Anyone that uses illicit drugs is advised to have a buddy and carry naloxone and ensure they both know how to use it,” RCMP state.
While the specific drug being used in Salmon Arm has yet to be identified, RCMP acknowledged Interior Health’s drug alert for counterfeit hydromorphone in Kamloops that’s in effect until Saturday (Oct. 31).
