Blazers’ Ondrus to join Ferreira at U17 World Challenge

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Blazers defenceman Mateo Ferreira will see a familiar face when he looks down the Canada Red bench at next month’s U17 World Challenge in Oakville, Ontario.

The team has announced 16-year-old forward Brady Ondrus has been selected to join the team.

Ondrus, from Sherwood Park, Alberta, has started his WHL career with five goals and two assists in 12 games for the Blazers.

Ferreira’s addition to Canada Red was announced earlier this month. Athletic Therapist Taylor Cochrane will be part of the staff for Canada White.
