KAMLOOPS — Already bursting at the seams in many schools, the Kamloops-Thompson School District (SD73) is reporting growth of about 120 students for the 2026-27 school year.
The new totals appear in a report from Secretary-Treasurer Kim Morris to the outgoing SD73 Board of Trustees for its meeting Monday evening (Oct. 19).
The report notes 9,072 elementary students throughout the district – an increase of nine from last school year. There are 6,182 secondary students registered, up about 25 from last year.
The biggest increases are shown in those accessing online and alternative learning programs, which both saw jumps of 43 to land at 368 and 173 students, respectively.
