KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers’ trade deadline acquisition in 2026 has been sent to another team.

The Blazers announced Tuesday (Oct. 13) they have traded 2007-born forward Ty Coupland to the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for a sixth round pick in the 2027 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft.

The Blazers acquired Coupland from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a pair of fourth round WHL Prospects Draft picks – one in 2026 and the other in 2028 – in January this year.

Following the trade to Kamloops, Coupland scored seven goals and 17 points in 28 games with the Blazers in the 2025-26 season. He added one assist in four playoff games. However, the start to the 2026-27 season has been slower for Coupland, as he’s scored one assist in five games played.
