Chance The Rapper Eyes Name Change To Simply ‘The Rapper’

Chance the Rapper may soon drop “Chance” from his stage name entirely. During an appearance on Raven-Symoné and Miranda Maday’s Tea Time podcast, the rapper said he wants a change. “I’m gonna take off the Chance,” he said. “I just wanna be The Rapper.” He framed the potential rebrand as a deeper embrace of hip-hop, not a departure. “I wanna carry rap the same way that rap has carried me through life,” he explained. The idea comes after a difficult period following his 2019 album The Big Day, which faced harsh criticism. His comeback album Star Line arrived in August 2025. He currently remains “Chance the Rapper” through his Coloring Book 10 Year Anniversary Tour, concluding October 11th in Pittsburgh.
