Storm split weekend with 4-1 win against Jets

KAMLOOPS — The Summerland Jets were in a no-fly zone on home ice when the they were struck down by a 4-1 defeat to the Kamloops Storm on Saturday (Oct. 4).

Carter Biggs opened the scoreboard for the Storm at the 14:34 mark for the Storm with assists from Alex von Hollen and Kaiden Sydenham.

The Jets answered at the 17:19 mark of the first frame with a goal from Nick Vopat and assists from Dayton Kolydk and Riddick Feely to finish the period with a 1-1 tie.

Kamloops played aggressively in the second period, taking 21 shots on net through the frame, but found no purchase.

The Storm raged on in the third period, with Alex Schaub getting a tie-breaking goal at the 5:56 second mark with an assist from Malcolm Anderson.

Keegan Sanders took advantage of the power play at the 15:06 mark with assists from Malcolm Anderson and Luca D’Amore to pull the Storm ahead even further.

With just 30 seconds left in the game, Kwentyn Oss scored an unassisted goal to secure the 4-1 finish for the Storm.

The Storm will head to Williams Lake on Friday to take on the Mustang at the Cariboo Memorial Rec Complex.
