Lillooet Hospital ER to close Saturday

LILLOOET, B.C. — Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre‘s emergency department will be closed for eight hours on Saturday (Oct. 3), marking the community’s sixth ER closure in 2026.

Interior Health (IH) said the ER will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but all other inpatient services will be available in the meantime.

Those needing emergency care in the meantime are urged to go to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, which is a two-plus-hour drive away.

“People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility,” said a statement form IH.
